WHY YOU NEED THIS EDUCATION

A Level 3B license is required for all personnel directing traffic at a public road worksite. Prerequisites: Working on Public Roads Level 2 & B-class vehicles driving license.

Course participants will learn:

• What equipment a traffic controller should use.

• What characters the traffic controller may display.

• How to organise a traffic stop where road users approach.

• Protective devices.

• How to direct and signal in an informative and correct manner.

• How to direct traffic through and past the workplace.

• How to operate the signal system.

• Stop times in relation to traffic.

• How to plan and execute a two-way traffic stop.

course contents

The Swedish Transport Agency recommends that an instructor-led education of at least 4–8 hours is required to achieve sufficient competence. Includes:

• Protective devices allowed for use.

• The Work Environment Act and its regulations.

• Work Environment Plan.

• Object customisation of TA sketches based on the role of traffic controller or routing of traffic

• Traffic needs in terms of accessibility, safety and information.

• Trafikverket's governing documents, tutorials and leaflets.

• Maintenance and operation of temporary signals
